Begin your stay at Bissau Palace with an interactive cooking lesson with Kunwar Aanjneya Singh Bissau, a member of the noble family of Bissau. Enjoy listening to interesting anecdotes about the rich history of Bissau and its cultural significance while Kunwar Aanjneya teaches you how to make family recipes which include the culinary delights of Shekhawati, Mewar, Marwar, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh. Each region represents a noble lady or 'Rani' that was married into the family of Bissau and brought recipes from her home or princely state.

Food is synonymous with Rajasthani culture and it gives us great pleasure to be teaching our guests how to prepare regal recipes passed down through generations in the Bissau Family. Our recipes include a variety of meat dishes as well vegetarian dishes. Please see some of our noteworthy dishes below:

Shekhawati Dhungar Maas
Bissau is located in the dry region of Shekhawati where goat meat (mutton) is prized for its flavour and tenderness. This recipe includes pieces of mutton (bone in) cooked in ghee, red chillies, red onions, garlic puree and house blended spices.
Preparation Time: 2 hours

Dahi Samosa Maas
An age-old recipe hailing from the region of Mewar which involves samosas stuffed with ground mutton layered on top of a mutton curry, garnished with sweet yoghurt and fresh coriander leaves.
Preparation Time: 3 hours

Safed Murgh
A decadent winter recipe which includes bone in chicken cooked in a white gravy made from a melange of almonds, cashews and cream.
Preparation Time: 1.5 hours

Gatta Curry
A traditional vegetarian recipe made with chickpea flour dumplings cooked in a tomato based gravy with house blended spices.
Preparation Time: 1 hour

Rajasthani Pyaz ki Sabji
A simple yet delicious recipe made with whole red onions cooked in a spicy gravy made with red chillies and buttermilk.
Preparation Time: 1 hour

Garden Greens Vegetable A farm to table recipe where guests pick fresh vegetables from our in house garden. Then the vegetables are cooked using traditional Rajasthani spices and cooking methods.

Private Dinner with Live Folk Music
Enjoy a scrumptious meal on our scenic rooftop with views of Nahargarh Fort or by our beautiful poolside. Guests may choose from a traditional Rajasthani menu, North Indian, or Italian menu. Along with your meal there will be a live puppet show with folk artists singing old Rajasthani folk songs.

We accept foreign currency. Please ask the front desk if you would like to exchange any currency for Indian Rupees. Kindly note, exchange rates may change on a daily basis.

Taxi Service
Please contact the front desk if you need a taxi or auto rickshaw. We have in house drivers readily available for day to day needs or airport transfers.

City Sightseeing Tour
Please contact the front desk for a half day or full day sightseeing tour of the Pink City which includes Amer Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Johri Bazaar.

City Sightseeing, Nahargarh and Jaigarh Tour
Please contact the front desk for a sightseeing tour of Jaipur’s historical forts, Nahargarh (Tiger Fort) and Jaigarh which were instrumental in the defence of the kingdom from invaders. Jaigarh is home to the world’s largest cannon, Jaivana. En route you will also stop at the beautiful Jal Mahal (Water Palace).

Jhalana Leopard Safari
Book a safari amidst the lush forests of the Jhalana Leopard Reserve. Please contact the front desk for a morning or evening safari.

Walk with Rescued Elephants
A truly unique experience, guests will have the opportunity to get up close with rescued elephants by going on a scenic walk through the Kukas countryside. Guests can also feed the elephants their favourite food, bananas! The experience includes a Rajasthani lunch amidst the wilderness.

Day Excursion to Abhaneri Stepwells
Book a day trip to the ancient Abhaneri Stepwells built in the 8th century and one of the largest stepwells in the world. Often described by historians as ‘two classical periods of water building in a single setting’. The tour is followed by a Rajasthani lunch in a local village. Price does not include entry fees to museums, attractions, tour guides.

Jaipur Temple Tour
Book an enchanting tour of Jaipur’s ancient and historical temples such as Galta ji, Govind Dev ji, Birla Mandir, Akshardam Mandir. Each temple is built in its own unique style of architecture and holds a significant place in history.

Book a street food tour with our partners, Pink City Rickshaw company which takes you to all the famous spots in the old city for Indian street food. The Pink City Rickshaw Co. is a unique non-profit organisation and aims to provide a new aspirational employment opportunity to 200 women from low income households in Jaipur.
